Feeling Great Today!

Hi everyone!! Mom is feeling great today minus a few stomach aches, but she is doing just fine! Ryan and I drove down last night to stay the weekend with mom and dad! Chip (our mini schnauzer) is having a blast running around in the great Outdoors!! :)

Mom got all pampered this morning - hair and makeup! She felt so good after I got finished! We got dressed for the day, ready to go! Dad, Ryan and Uncle Donnie all went fishing until noon and came back pretty much empty handed! :( It's gotta be the wind! Right guys?? oh well....maybe next time!

Mom and I hung out at the house and played with Chip and looked at pictures! Jackie Bryant stopped by to bring in a large, yummy chocolate sheet cake! It is sooooo good! mmmmmm.....

Mom will hopefully start her treatments next week! We are just waiting to hear back from the doctor's office on Monday to see when she is supposed to go to Tulsa again! Continue to pray hard, hard, hard for this will be difficult on everyone! But we all know God is in Control!!! He is in the DRIVER'S SEAT and is truly the GREAT PHYSICIAN! We love you all so very much! We will also continue to pray for you and yours!
Blessings,
The Forrester Family

  2. Just wanted to thank you girls for all of the updates, and I agree.....even though not as many seem to making comments, we all still check every day to see what you've written so that we can know how Doreen is doing and how her days are going. Please keep up the great work!! I'm sure the treatments are going to be difficult, but we have an awesome God and He will always be there for us when we need Him!! My grandaughter, Makayla, is in the first grade there at Stigler and she called to ask her Mimi if she wanted a t-shirt for Mrs. Forrester, so I was glad my daughter is taking care of that for me. Please give your Mom a big hug from me & my family and let her know she and her family are constantly in my thoughts and prayers!!

    Love,
    Sheryl

  3. Doreen,

It was great talking with you on the phone last night! You sounded real good and I am glad you were feeling well. I am so glad you like the gifts that I sent you. It was really fun shopping for you. It made me feel that I was doing at least a little bit to help brighten your days. We will continue to keep you in our daily thoughts and prayers as you embark on the next phase of your journey. You are so blessed to have such great family and friends to lend their support in so many ways! We love you and will continue to check this blog daily for updates. Thank you Brooke and Hillary for all that you are doing to keep all of us informed on your mom's daily progress. You are both super!

    Love,

    Ann

  4. Hillary and Brooke, I am so thankful for you two keeping us all so informed about the daily progress of your mom. And everyone is right we check this website daily to see how Doreen is doing. I have been sick with a horrible cold since she has been home so I didn't want to make anything or send anything over for fear of germs. Natalie has been here since the week before Emily's wedding and I didn't even get to see my precious babies until this Saturday. I didn't want any of them to get it. I miss those girls so much and it was awful knowing they were here in Oklahoma and not being able to see them.

I know your mom enjoys you all being there with her as much as you are. I couldn't help but laugh when you all told the story of everyone jumping in the king size bed last weekend. It reminded me of when Nat was little, just like "Old Times". Those things warm a mother's heart and can be better than any medicine known to man.

You know I think we all need to start leaving comments because we forget your mom likes to read this and not being able to get out and about like she is so used to, this is really a good way for her to keep up. I think so many of us feel funny leaving a comment everytime, but it's not about us; it is about keeping Doreen's spirits up. So everyone needs to leave a Good Morning Doreen! on here when they check in and give her something to read all day! LOL

so, Good Morning Doreen! Hope you have a wonderful Day! We are all still thinking and praying for you. When I get completely over this cold I am going to be cooking something good for you! Also, if you want something fun to read go to www.thepioneerwoman.com and she has a fun website with everything that goes on at their ranch in Osage County from ranching, cooking, photography, home and garden, home schooling etc. Her website was in the top 20 websites on Time magazine's List and Southern Living Magazine was just at her Lodge on the ranch few weeks ago going over her cooking blog and making some of the recipes to feature in an upcoming issue. Just a fun site that you will enjoy. Take care of yourself and I will be thinking of you in the next few weeks with your treatments I know it is going to be tough; I will pray extra hard for God to help you through this.

  5. Doreen,
Just gonna let you know we are keeping Mr. DcClain (McClain) out of trouble while you are out! Not too much going on at the GS this week. Stephanie was telling me that you are doing much better and that is just what I expected to hear. Someday when you feel like it I'll bring my two little warriors over to see you! They are so much fun yet they are so much work! They are both doing really well right now. Lucas (the youngest) has had tubes put in his ears and has done fine since. He has a checkup again this Thursday. Calen has had a few seizures and had to spend a night in the hospital but he is doing great now. Of course, we didn't find out why he had the seizures except that maybe he inherited them from Miranda, but all in all he is doing great. I'm ready to spend Spring Break with them and hopefully we can play outside. I have sure enjoyed seeing pictures of Claire on this site. She is absolutely adorable! I will continue to pray for you and lift you up to God as you have your treatments and as you get well. I only expect the best for you because my God only wants the best for us. Trials make us stronger even though we feel weaker as we go through them. Keep looking up---
    Linda

  6. Hi Doreen,
It was great to talk to you this afternoon. Sounds like you are enjoying getting outside alittle. I am trying again to post a message. Seems like I am just talking to myself and I post and it won,t work. I need you to help me send you a note. You are always better at this computer stuff. It was a nice day for the kids at school to play outside. They are already saying it is hot out. Wait till it does get hot. When you are up for a ride come by and just call one of us and we will have a Mrs. Forrester recess and give you a First Grade giant wave from the playgroud. You know maybe we could find that Limo driver we had in Dallas and he would come and take you for a ride around Stigler. We are just waiting for you tell us what we can do anytime for you. You said today you were making your way and you are. Each day you are stronger than the day before. It is hard to keep you down. On Sunday afternoon's I still look for your tahoe at the First Grade parking. I miss your spark. Call me anytime!!! I look forward to Spring Break. I don't have any certain plans yet. Just going to enjoy each day. I am sure I will see some GRANDKIDS !!! Tommorrow you start another part of your journey and I pray God will keep you close and that you will breeze through these next few weeks. Spring is here and you can watch the flowers bloom. First Grade sends all their love. Love and Miss you Lana Hug

  8. Doreen,
This weekend I was talking with my brother's girlfriend, who is a 2nd grade teacher, and she was telling me that now kids are learning to read in kindergarten. It brought back so many memories of sitting in a circle in your 1st grade class taking turns reading! I always liked it when we went alphabetically by first names because that meant I didn't have to wait too long for my turn, and I remember how disappointed I was if we had to start at the END of the alphabet and work backwards because it seemed like my turn would NEVER come around! (I still enjoy reading, by the way!) You've sure made an impact on a lot of kids over the years, and I am SO THANKFUL to have been one of them! There are still lots of little ones out there needing that "special" teacher who really makes a difference so you take extra good care of yourself. You continue to fight, we'll continue to pray, and together we can ALL continue to believe that you'll soon be back to doing all those wonderful things God created you to do. WE LOVE YOU!!
