mom's appointment....

Hi everyone,

Well we heard back today around 3 p.m. that mom will not be able to get her first appointment until next Tuesday....it's all about the waiting game again. We do not even have a specific time of the appointment yet, but when we do, i'll post it so you can pray at that exact moment. This first appointment will be her consultation and exam and she'll be meeting her neuro-surgeon, Dr. Amy Beth Heimberger, M.D.Associate Professor (See link below to view the doctor).

We've had so many people helping us through this trial. Thank you to all the families that have "been there done that" or are currently going to and from MD Anderson. Also, we have had so many people help us with referrals, references, traveling arrangements, and things just "to know" when you get down there. Hearing from you all helps mom know that there are so many who are praying for her and thinking of our family. Thank you again for all staying in touch through this blog. It has been great to start it and it will hopefully be helpful to you to keep in touch with mom's journey! :) As my friend, Christen G. said...who has also dealt with cancer and sickness with her own little twin boys, this blog will be theraputic for us all.

love, hugs, and prayers--Brooke

  2. From the moment I heard this horrible news, your mom & your entire family has been in my heart & my prayers. Since I was a little girl, I have always had so much admiration for your mother. She is & always has been such a beautiful woman, on the inside & out. As we all know, God works in miraculous ways...Let us all continue to lift her up in prayer!!

May God be with Doreen & with you all.

    Love,
    Angie Hall Rains

  6. Doreen, We are praying for you fervently. You honestly have not left my mind since I heard the news. You were such an angel of encouragement when Sky went through this and so our family will be praying for you every moment.

God bless you and may you receive answers and encouragement at MD Anderson.

  7. Doreen,
I said a prayer for you every day and know God must of heard. I felt the answer in mt heart although He spoke no word. I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind. I asked him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind. I asked that He'd be near you at the start of each new day. To grant you health and blessings and friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small. But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.

I love you with all my heart and may God Bless You and the family. If you need to talk someone the family has my email address. I am here anytime. Big Hug and Kiss!

    Love Always and Forever,
    Kelly (Murphy) Vieira

  8. Doreen,

I just wanted to let you know that I am continuously praying for you. I see the strong bond that you share with Hillary and Brooke and it's amazing. I feel so blessed to have Hillary in my life:) She is the best friend a girl could ask for. To see your eyes fill with tears of happiness as Hillary tried on her "perfect" wedding dress and to watch the "Forrester girls" embrace in an emotional hug was a beautiful sight to see. God only gives us what we can handle and I know that his strength will shine through you and your family.

    Much love,
    Janell

  9. Doreen and Family,
I am so grateful that you set up this blog so we can keep track of your treatments! I've checked out your neurosurgeon's credentials, and she appears to be eminently qualified. I am also glad that MD Anderson is equipped with the BrainSuiteMRI, in case that is needed during your surgery. If you qualify, I hope you will consider participating in a clinical trial for your treatment. Of course, you are ultimately in the hands of the Great Physician, and all things are possible with Him. You are in my prayers daily.

    Love,
    Nancy Cooper

  10. Doreen, so sorry to hear the news about the cancer. I know you can beat this. Sometimes we have to go through valleys but God is always with us and He always brings us through them and we come out on top again. You are so special to Corey and I. I will never forget what you meant to him and did for him when you had him in the first grade and then he was so fortunate to have you again in the fourth grade. God answered our prayers way back then and He still answers them today. Your whole family is special to us and we will always treasure the blessing we have of having all of you in our lives. We are praying for you every day. We love you all.
