Hanging out....

Hi everyone,
Today Steph Quick came over to be with mom. Steph got mom all pampered up and feeling good, they also rested and relaxed. They worked on mom's therapy items such as: days of the week, numbers, etc...she's doing REALLY well with all of that. She's also noticing more of when she says things the wrong way, she'll try and correct herself, even if it still may not come out quite right...it sure is close!! We usually know what she's talking about. Grandma came over to cook dinner while dad went to get a haircut.

Thank you to everyone who is still praying, sending cards/emails, and posting on the blog. If you haven't read the blog comments from yesterday's blog, do it! Very sweet messages and inspiring, thank you ladies for posting such marvelous words. Mom and Steph got online today and went to the blog. Steph read her the comments and she said mom was so excited and smiling from ear to ear to hear from you....keep 'em coming! :) Good night! --The Forrester's
**Tomorrow mom has another dr.'s appt. Radiation will start probably this week.

  2. Good morning, Mrs. Forrester..My Gracie is missing you as are all the other little ones, I'm sure. Sharlette is right, some of us feel that we have no comment to add, we just want to keep up with your doin's. Besides, it takes two or three tries for me to get my comments accepted, for some reason. No doubt it is operator-error, as usual. But I know this is a two way conversation, so...we are beginning to prepare some Easter music in choir. I miss our hijinks, you and me, with our "gettin' down" and silliness. I sure am missing you in class, too. Attendance has been better than usual, it seems. Hope Virgil has been keeping you updated on our committee work. Elda has gone to Ft. Smith for some rehab, and Violet took a spill but didn't break anything. Marjorie is having surgery the 25th. John is preaching from Job. Come back soon. Keep your chin up. Love, BMcKee

  3. Yea, we are getting more posts. I was so glad to hear that Stephanie and you are getting a kick out of hearing from everyone. You know it was one of those things I thought you were doing but it just didn't register till yesterday. Must have been that heavy fog I have had with this cold. Natalie and some of the girls at her shop went to see "NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK" last night. Do you remember the girls being soooo crazy about them back when they were in grade school? Oh my gosh I have one of those Big rubber maid trash cans full of NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK memorabilia from the good ole days. She and Garth's brother are leaving today to go back to Austin. :( But Lisa Dixon Highfill and I are leaving this weekend for a roadtrip with her girls to go see Nat during Spring Break. I can't wait. I am finally starting to get over this cold and nothing like some good ole Texas weather to bring out the best! Remember when we went to Dallas for Cheerleading Nationals and poor Hillary had to push me around in that wheel chair? LOL Nobody knew how to get to downtown but me and I had that broken foot so we got that wheel chair from the hotel and I drove downtown and Hill pushed me around! What a hoot! But those girls had a blast. Too much fun. Can't wait for our girls to start some of this with their children. Like making suckers to raise money and getting sugar all over my floor! It took months before you could walk in the kitchen without your foot sticking to the floor!

Keep up the good work Doreen! We are all hanging in there with you. And I know everyone is going to stop in and say "GOOD MORNING MRS FORRESTER!"

And you need to take Lana's advice drive by the grade school for a Mrs. Forrester recess. That would be fun for them as well as you to see them give you a WAVE! I know that would boost your morale as well as theirs!

  4. Doreen, Hello and good morning. Hope you are feeling chipper this morning. I wanted to let you know that your kids are rockin on the soft seven adding and subtracting! I know they can't wait to see you again. We are ready for spring break. The kids are alittle wild, as you know! My Cass dislocated her elbow in gymnastics a couple of weeks ago and is in a sling. She's starting to itch. Last night she had a chop stick using it as a scratcher! Kids are so goofy. We are still praying everyday for your continued healing. Just remember.....YOU ROCK MRS. FORESSTER!!!

  5. Hillary and Brooke you will never know the impact you have had on lives just by posting this blog and letting everyone feel like we're somehow a small part of what your family is going through!
Doreen, sorry you haven't heard from me in awhile - had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago -feeling great now!!! I can imagine how much you are missing your class - I was out just one week and I was so ready to see their smiling faces and feel their little arms around my waist again. I showed them a couple of my incisions and they're still pampering me!!!
My kids are doing great - Garrett is getting so tall and handsome (not sure I'm ready for a teenager) but he'll be 13 next month!! He would never tell anyone but he's a momma's boy and I love it! Jade just started doing pageants again (haven't done any since she was little). We went to Tulsa and she won Little Miss Keystone Lake - she got to spend the morning w/ Miss Oklahoma (Kelsie Cartwright) and then helped her crown the teens later that evening. It was AWESOME!! Mom and I took her and we had the best time ever - but now she has qualified to be an Oklahoma Star in the Miss Oklahoma pageant in June. She'll spend the week with the contestants and Miss Oklahoma and will actually make an appearance with the other Stars ages 6-12 and be on stage at some point during the actual Miss Oklahoma Pageant!!! We're excited and proud of her!
Enough about us - I'm so glad you have Steph to take care of you LOL! I told Brian if I got down and wasn't able to take care of myself after my surgery - call Steph - she would and could do "anything" I needed!!! Gotta go - recess is over - Love you so much - Hugs and kisses from Kindergarten!!!

  6. Doreen,
I was talking with Sarah last night and we were talking about Stephanie helping take care of you and I thought it was awesome that God has placed Stephanie where she is and that she can help you during the day. Steph is a gem of a person and blesses people by trying to help them. She is the type of person that will literally do anything for anybody. I am sure you have been a blessing to her also. You may have to teach her how to walk without breaking or spraining an ankle!!! I hope and pray you have a great day today and that each day just gets better.
